Annual Welcome To
Summer Meeting
Date: May 24, 2009
Place: Dutch’s
Restaurant
Presiding: Russ Rindt
Time: Into session at 8:06 p.m.
Treasurer’s Report:
- The
balance in the CD is $6552.67
- The
money market has $8976.15
- The
checking has $1085.84
Committee Reports:
- President
Russ started out with a push that we need to get more people from around
the lake to join the Crystal Lake Advancement Association. Letters went
out for this meeting and we only had about 53 people in attendance.
- Regarding
membership, Joanie added that we had 51 plus 20 new this evening for a
total of 71. We really need to talk to others because this is a big
negative change. One of the complaints she’s had is that the club is
simply too social.
- Further,
Russ commented on the Hey & associates report.
Business:
- We had a general comment from Lars Graf regarding Crystal Lake
Crushed Stone and other people had some simple thoughts about happenings
around the lake.
- Those general including that we’re going to have a DJ at the Osthoff for the annual dinner dance. We want to
increase attendance and the dollars that we drive out of the event to be
held on July 25th.
- New members Lynn and Mart Curran introduced themselves and are
interested in finding a pontoon boat.
- We also had a report of having a paddle boat and raft missing
from last year.
- It sounds that since Matt Kaufmann is no longer interested in
doing sailboat races, they will be on hiatus for a year.
- These comments were followed by some general conversation
regarding Crystal Lake Crushed Stone and change of organization there and
whether this is a sham or not, we’re not sure. The company could be for
sale.
- As cooler heads prevailed over conversations and Mr. President
took back order there was a special remembrance for Iona Forcier as she was a long-time member and resident of
the lake and just recently passed away.
Motion to adjourn: 8:31 p.m. Rick Rickmeier and seconded by Steve Schuelke.
