 Sheboygan Cty News – January 6, 1892

 

                                                          Glenbeulah Items

   The children’s supper which was given by the M.E. Sunday school was well attended. The children were surprised to see an orange tree from which each one was allowed to pick an orange. The proceeds amounted to $8.80.    Mr. Adam Giesmann and Masters Willie and Freddie of Sheboygan visited our village last week.   Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Bauman visited Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Maurer in Sheboygan last week.    Mrs. Grimes and daughter Mary visited our village Thursday and Friday last.    Mr. H.C. Mensel and Mr. P. H. Reinboldt spent Saturday and Sunday in Sheboygan.    Miss Rosa Heyn and Miss Bertha Baumann attended the dance at Plymouth New Years Eve.    The Barber & Cole band is now quite busy.  They have played six times in two weeks.    Mr. Alfred and Bertha Baumann returned Monday to Oshkosh where they are attending school.    Mr. F. B. Hestler has opened his store and is in running order.  Hope he will meet with success.    Mr. and Mrs. J. Donahue of Sheboygan spent New Years day in our village.    Mr. Zac O’Dell and a Mr. Bailey who “batched” on one of the islands in Cedar Lake, had a quarrel in which Mr. Bailey received a blow on the head with a riffle inflicting a severe wound.    There was quite a change in the weather here New Years day.  Rained all day and ended ina snowstorm.    Mr. Conrad Ladenberger of Sheboygan spent a few days in our village.    Mr. John E. Dennis returned to his duties Thursday at Downing, Wis.

   Mrs. W. Anson Barnes of the Schwedler Island summer resort wills soon start for New York state on a visit to her parents.

 

 

 

Sheboygan Cty News – January 27, 1892

 

                                                                      Glenbeulah Items

   Mr. Floyd Hesler took a business trip to Milwaukee last Monday.    The remains of Mrs. Gesling were interred in the Glenbeulah cemetery.  She died at Antigo and is mother of Fred Gesling, one of our Greenbush farmers.   Miss. Helen Fricke of Calvary, is acting as clerk for Mr. F. Hesler.    There was a half night dance in Lyceum Hal Friday evening, given by Frank Barber.  Music was furnished by Gates and Gibson.  All reported a good time.    Miss Carrie Snyder of Oshkosh visited friends in our village last week.    Miss Gusta Limberg spent last Sunday at the Falls.    Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Reinhold of Plymouth spent a day in our village last week.    Mr. J. Shufflebotham is intending to build a barn on his farm.   Many of our Odd Fellows attended the lodge at Plymouth, Saturday.    Mr. Bailey has sued Mr. Sac. O’Dell.  The trial will come on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Greenbush.    Sleighing is going fast boys, you had better take your girls out riding soon.

 

 

Sheboygan Cty News – May 11, 1892

 

   The following party of young folks spent a joyful day last Saturday with Mrs. W. Anson Barnes at Warwick Park, her charming home on the island in Cedar Lake near Glenbeulah.  Misses Mamie and Julia Lawrence, Mable Pepper, Bessie Crocker, Ella Farnsworth, Maude Fraser, Maude McLain, Alice Stearns, Julia Dennett, Laura and Robert Mattoon. They went out on the morning freight and returned with the same train in the evening. 

 

 

Sheboygan Evening Telegram – July 20, 1892

 

   Fred Telgener returned last evening from Cedar Lake where he had taken the Sunday school pupils of Mr. F. A. Dennett who had a picnic on the banks of the lake.  There wee three bus loads of pupils.

   Mrs. S. A. Simpson accompanied by Miss Lulu Zschetzsche departed this forenoon for a few day’s visit at Cedar Lake.

 

 

Sheboygan Cty News – August 17, 1892

 

  Dr. Mead and Dr. Wainwright, of Chicago who has been spending his vacation at Elkhart, were fishing at Cedar Lake Saturday.  They caught a number of large fish, one of which, a green bass, weighted three and seven-eights pounds.
