CLAA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

PLACE:  Bruce’s

 

TIME:  7:55 P.M.

 

PRESIDING:  Russ Rindt

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

A.    Secretary’s report was approved.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

A.    The balance in the checking account is $914.23

B.     The balance in the money market account is $7,933.59

C.     The CD is at $6,000

D.    The total balance is $14,847.82

E.      The treasurer’s report was approved.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

I.        Beautification Committee

A.    There will be no day assigned for a major clean up.  They are asking everyone to do their share by cleaning up around their homes.  Also when you are walking the lake, take a bag with you to pick up trash.

           II.  Dinner Dance

A.    Connie and Russ Rindt will be in charge of the dance this year. 

The date has been changed this year to August 2.  The dance will be held at Bruce’s.

 

          III. Membership Committee

A.    Joanie Butzen announced that as of this date there were 77

Members to the CLAA.  The membership has been asked to

Actively try to recruit new members.

 

IV. Welcome to the Lake Committee

A.    It was decided that welcoming newcomers to the lake can best

Be served by the neighbors inviting them to join the CLAA.

 

V.     Water Quality and Weed Control Committee

A.  There was no report given on the water quality.

B.      The sanitary district would like the CLAA to combine their

      Efforts to develop a comprehensive plan that would be an          

. on-going study of the lake’s vegetation.  An established firm

 would develop this plan.  This plan would then be presented to the DNR for approval.  The CLAA portion of the

study for this year would be $3,500.

C.     The motion to ratify the vegetation study was passed by the

Membership.

 

VI. Liaison Committee

A.    The study continues on the ground water flow.  Every

Week they download the data.  With that data they are

Creating a computer model.

B.     The lake protection study has applied for a $200,000.00

Grant.

 

OLD BUSINESS

I.                   A public hearing on the Crystal Lake Crushed Stone will be announced soon.

A.  The CLAA members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

I.                   Sailboat Races

A.    Every Sunday in July the lake will hold sailboat races starting at 1:30.

B.     Matt Kaufmann has agreed to be in charge of the races.

 

II.                Raffle Ticket winners

A.    Kay Miller won the Sartori cheese basket.

B.     Brad Roberts won the heads and tails game of the 4 Brewer tickets.

 

 

III.             Election of a New Board Member

A.    Jeff Hansmann ran for the open board position.

                     B.  The membership voted unanimously to elect the above individual to the board position.
